The Director of the Magnetic Hill Zoo and Magnetic Hill Park oversees one of Moncton’s most prized destination. The incumbent is responsible for fulfilling the zoo’s vision, mission and strategic plan. The position manages and oversees zoo operations including facilities, staff, animal care, wellbeing and habitats, as well as education and conservation programs. Oversight in admissions, guest services, retail, concessions, service contracts and marketing are also part of the portfolio. Overall theme park responsibilities include park vision and strategic objectives, administration, tenant management, marketing and oversight of the Magnetic Hill
illusion.

The animal keeper is responsible for the day-to-day husbandry of the animal collection and issues pertaining to wildlife across the zoo; maintaining the quality standards of accredited zoological practices. The animal keeper will maintain high standards of maintenance and care for a diverse collection of animals. Responsibilities include: animal husbandry and welfare, exhibit maintenance, guest services, diet preparation, enrichment, record keeping and related duties as required. The animal keeper may be required to work with or within other departments. The animal keeper will adhere to all health and safety regulations, legislation and policies.

The Animal Care Manager is a full-time, permanent position that is the lead on ensuring animals at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve are well cared for. This includes meeting or exceeding the standards of care required for YWP to maintain its accreditation with Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums. This position plays important roles in coordinating important stakeholders, hands-on animal care, team-leadership and strong communication throughout all parties.
