Canada’s accredited zoos and aquariums (CAZA), the national organization representing accredited zoological institutions in Canada, is in Fredericton meeting with legislators and government officials today to push for clearer, tougher, more comprehensive and better enforced rules around exotic animals and zoo and aquariums.
The New Brunswick legislature will be debating today a motion calling for a review of the current system and the prompt adoption of more effective measures. CAZA supports this motion and is meeting with government officials as well as legislators to offer its ongoing support for their efforts.
CAZA Executive Director Massimo Bergamini as well as Moncton Magnetic Hill Zoo Manager, Bruce Dougan will be available to media for background during the day, and following the debate on the motion, for comment.
